With ios 15, it seems that it's no longer possible to add to an existing note using Siri. For example, it used to be possible to say, "Hey Siri, add cereal to note Grocery List." After updating to ios 15, Siri's response is "Sorry, I can't help with that." Is there a workaround, or is this functionality simply gone?

Just talked to someone at Apple. It is a feature that they took away but are working on putting it back. Basically keep trying after each update.

The “hey Siri” function works just fine. Please re-read my question. The function that does not work is using Siri to add text to an existing note. This function stopped working when the phone was upgraded to iOS 15.
I am having the same problem but it happened before I updated to 15. Seems to have just started (today is Sunday it worked earlier this week).
as With the OG poster, I was able to say “hey Siri, add to grocery note” and I could add items to that note. Now I get “sorry, I can’t help you with that. Let me know if you would like me to open notes app”.

Thank you for the update, I was having the same problem. And in hindsight, it’s probably one of the things I use most every day. I like to cook a lot like all three meals for my friends and neighbors and even strangers, so I’m constantly saying add whatever to the note shopping, because I’ll see a recipe or remember I have to get dog food, or you name it. But I use add peanut butter to the note shopping, or add half-and-half to the note shopping. I do it all day many many times a day and I was so upset when I saw that the feature had stopped working and got the sorry I can’t do that message. I’m glad to hear they acknowledge it as a feature they took out but are working to put back in. It’s truly one of my favorite features in the world. I hope it comes back soon. Because to me it was such a brilliant feature. And I used to be able to continue and say add broccoli, add tomatoes, add salmon, add hummus. But now you start to say add such and such to the note shopping. Or I should say, you had to say before the iOS 15 update when it was still working, if not as beautiful as it worked before with adding things right after the next. Fingers crossed. Thank you again for your diligence, and contacting Apple. That kind of question can get a brick wall response, and I’m glad you got a response. I used to work there, so I know.
