Can you record TV programs to watch later?

As mentioned Apple TVs are streaming devices, that means 99% of the content available on them is on demand, so there is no need to record anything.

You can watch anything anytime you want to since its not playing live, its there for you to start playing whenever you want to. Recording does not make sense when you can start watching anything at any time.

Things with live TV, like Hulu or Sling offer Cloud DVR options to record their live offerings if needed for later playback.

For everything else, its just available at any time when you want to watch it.

Select apps from TV providers may allow users to set “Cloud DVR” recordings (stored on the TV provider’s servers), if that service is included in your plan with them. Who is your TV provider?

If you stop the cable TV portion, then have to forgo on linear/live TV, or find a different internet streaming TV provider (e.g. Hulu or YouTube TV; [Streaming Channels Matrix]; [Streaming TV via WOW]). You’re exchanging one subscription for another.

As mentioned, “recordings” are then still possible, but online, not on a local device.
