Notification on Apple Watch and on Phone lock screen

How can I get notification and banner on my phone lock screen and still get haptic notification on my watch. Seems like it's either one or the other. I tried turning the notifications off on the watch and it did alert the phone. However, I want both to alert me. Any suggestions.
