iPhone 13 pro battery hot

Just got a new iPhone 13 pro and updated it to iOS 15. But I noticed that the phone/battery is constantly hot. Anybody else have the same problem or just me?

returned the first 13 pro and this one also doing the same thing. Just listening to music makes it pretty toasty. It’s so frustrating cause I was so excited about this phone and now dealing with all this! My other phones don’t do this so I def would love a fix besides all the others I already to to help the battery. Might have to return it if it keeps doing this and go back to 12 pro max

Ya when I listened to Apple music on phone 12 pro max and had no issues but this one does. Idk why, I even tried restoring the phone through iPhone my Mac just in case software was corrupt. Will test it out today after 2nd software update and will see

I have a suggestion for you. If you routinely keep your phone in your pocket, turn OFF Tap to Wake. Bouncing around in your pocket, you can easily turn things on without knowing. And when things are running in a space where there is little air, heat can build faster.

Go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch > Turn off Tap to Wake

I recommend this to anyone who keeps their phone in their pocket.

An update is that after some 16 hours I got a popup from Google maps that maps down load for offline routing is completed! That can explain a bit for the phone being warm. But the warmth did not stop with that, even if I kill all apps.

did an experiment where I put the phone in airplane mode. After few mins the phone went stone cold so seems the warmth is not due to local indexing.

turned off the airplane mode and phone was back to being warm. So seems some app is doing some back ground network activity.

I am on the latest iOS and all apps have been set to auto update so all of them are on latest version.

any idea to check which app is doing back ground activity enough to make the phone warm ?
