Different disk info on the same disk.

Why does the system display different info? The top image shows "About this machine", and the bottom shows info from "Disk Utility" on my MacBook Pro.

The top shows I have more storage space than the bottom.

Why is it like that?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.6

"Macintosh HD - Data" contains only data, it does not contain your system. System is on "Macintosh HD"

Storage Space under "About This Mac" is total disk space. Depending on the algorithm employed, different views may display slightly different capacity numbers.
