iPhone 13 photo quality issue

Hello everyone,

I just bought a brand new iPhone 13, upgrading from my previous iPhone XS.

I’m overall impressed by the phone but I noticed something strange regarding photos.

whenever I take a picture I have to wait a second or two to view the image. Immediately after I took the photo it looks blurry than after those very short moments the photo is sharp but it seems like some sort of filter or correction has been applied and it doesn’t look very nice. There is a lot of noise and more contrast. I haven’t activated any filter or photographic style. The iPhone just do this automatically.

has anyone noticed something similar? Is some automatic photo correction activated by default? How do I turn that off in that case?

thanks!

Hi,

Yep! I absolutely am having this issue with the photos on my iphone 13 pro as well. It's like the default sharpness is up too high, and its really annoying to have to go back and edit all of my photos to soften them. I'm also having a ton of other software bugs (cannot use apple watch to unlock, phone storage calculation fluctuates and is off, etc etc). This is the buggiest launch I've ever been a apart of, and I'm hoping they will patch the software real quick!

I’m having the same issues with my 13 pro max, all pictures look great on the screen but when I’m about to take a photo it comes out different and blurry, like every picture I’m taking when you zoom in afterwards the quality is just so terrible. Also the front facing camera is horrendous in good light it still struggles to get a clear shot and in low light it looks like I have an awful filter on my face which makes my skin look like I’ve got some sort of illness. I’ve also noticed in the settings that the HDR on and off switch has disappeared and now the camera is just forcing it when it sees fit and I think this is causing the photo clarity and sharpness issues on the main lens. Also when getting close to a subject the camera auto switches to the wide lens again this is very frustrating as I’m being forced to use it when in some situations I don’t want to, it’s like come on apple just give us manual control over the lens switch and HDR I feel like this camera is a downgrade. Very odd as all the you tube reviewers are getting crisp clean shots by just pointing and shooting.

I am having the same issue with taking photos and with taking screenshots too. Also all of my photos from iCloud that were copied to the phone show blurry as well. Some of my apps act buggy too. So far I’m not impressed at all. I hope it’s an iOS issue that they fix soon. If I turn my phone off and back on it temporarily resolved the blurry photos. But eventually they go back to blurry. So frustrating!!
