Dolby Atmos sound from Apple TV 4K leads to muffled voices on LG TV

I have just upgraded to an LG OLED tv which is Dolby atmos enabled. When I play Dolby atmos content ( ie See) from my Apple TV 4K 2nd gen box the voices get muffled and have to change format to stereo to get working again.

if I play directly from the Apple TV app on the tv it works fine.

Does anyone know a solution for this?

But do you have a Dolby Atmos speaker setup?

Just the built-in TV speakers wouldn’t give you the Atmos experience. That just front-left and front-right, thus stereo.

Yes I have an LG BX tv that will simulate the Dolby atmos, it works fine if I play through the Apple TV+ App on the TV but if play thorough the Apple TV box it does not work.
