My new i phone 12 is locked i want to set it back to factory settings

How do I unlock my brand new i phone 12. somehow the passcode i put in yesterday upon setting the phone up is not working i use the same passcode on all my old phone which died and my 2 ipads and my i touch. I dont see how it got screwed up. Please help me reset my phone.
