Report sexual activity on FaceTime

Hey there community,

Our daughter recently answered a FaceTime call, not looking at the number, to connect to a perverted male showing his genetalia. She quickly hung up and made us aware of the issue. I 'googled' the phone number that reflected several other individuals receiving similar, if not worse, FaceTime calls from the same number, over a period of at least 2 years. The cell number is reported to a L.A. (213) area code.

Is this issue something that can be reported to Apple, and will Apple take action on removing this male's account and reporting him to the proper authorities? I really don't want this to fall on deaf ears, and Apple needs to be made aware of this pervert's actions.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I'm sorry to hear about this. I would too be concerned if this was happening to myself, or a loved one.

Apple has some resources in regards to recognising and blocking unwanted messages and calls like this one below:

Recognize and avoid phishing messages, phony support calls, and other scams

Block phone numbers, contacts, and emails on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

I would suggest blocking the number from calling in the future.

You could possibly report this incident to your local police force's non-emergency contact number as these calls are of a sexual nature.
