iPhone 13 Pro won't set to unlock with Apple Watch

The Face ID and passcode setting to unlock with Apple Watch won't enable. My phone is an iPhone 13 Pro (new today my 12 was enabled) with Version 15 iOS and my watch is a Series 6 with Version 8 Watch OS. When I try to enable it I get an error that it can't connect to my watch. It then gives me the option to try again or cancel. Yes, my watch is unlocked and on my wrist. I have tried unpairing and re-pairing my watch. Nothing that I do seems to work.

Mine is exactly the same. iOS 15 has been in beta testing for who know how longs the hardware of the 13 should have been stress tested multiple times so I like you am at a loss and frustrated that apple missed what is now well tried and tested technology since iOS 14.5

come on Apple fix this please we live in a COVID world where masks are with us for a few years yet
