notification badges

Yes, the badges can be removed per the device settings. Go to Settings > Notifications, select the desired app, and then switch off Badges for that app. Get more info on using notifications here:

Thanks for reaching back out to us. Currently, the ability to disable notifications for the Settings app is not an available option. That is meant to inform you that a specific action or update is available or required. Once you open the Settings app, the badge appears right below your name. Usually you can tap on the badge to clear it. Are you having trouble clearing the badges? We look forward to hearing back from you.
