iphone 13 pro not switching to telephoto lens in low light

Hi, just got the new phone, it is found that the camera does not switch to tele lens under indoor light situation. Instead, it is using digital zoom of standard len which make the resolution suck.

I understand the theory apple said the standard len has larger aperture and capture more light, blablabla.. In such why make a night mode for tele len as stated in adv.

I just want to take a telephoto with higher resolution, any method to force to use tele len?

Of course it changes it on its own and it makes wrong choices very often. The 0,5x 1x 3x are just a hint - software will eventually choose the lens it wants. I am experiencing identical issues. The automation in camera app is really flawed. There should be a dedicated macro only mode and there is simply no way of cropping from 12 mpix at 26 mm up to 77 mm equivalent with good results - therefore in 3x zoom only telephoto should be used. It makes job done, even in night mode - I don't know why software is more inclined to use heavily cropped image from main sensor.

A master switch to disable automatic change of camera is an absolute necessity...
