Thank you but neither of these responses deals with the BRAND NEW beta app that was released by Roblox specifically for MacOS. It takes away the Roblox application and design studio and replaces it with the limited things the app for iOS offers. This is to reduce script exploits as well as kids being hacked due to lack of knowledge about phishing scams. I am not a child and didn’t realize that my application and build mode were being removed. I thought I was getting better access as gamers primarily use PC and many things simply work better in roblox when you are on a PC.
I did uninstall and delete cache files, as well as any Roblox files I found (even the CodaKids files which are obby files made on Roblox). I tried to reinstall on Firefox but have MetaMask for crypto wallet and duck duck go so I’m not tracked by Google. I added Roblox into all exception folders in Firefox and it will not download the application. It simply goes in a loop that downloads the application to the point of choosing a game but once I select play for a game (I tried different games, I tried going into my avatar and changing it, etc) in goes back to download the Roblox app… download successful, goes to main page, select game and hit play, loops back to download the Roblox app and…. Safari will only download the beta app and I didn’t try Chrome or Edge as I really don’t like Google products.
I appreciate your responses but clearly neither of you are dealing with this issue and have a workaround or a fix. Again, thanks for trying to help. If ANYONE has recently (in the past week 9/20/21) gone through this and knows what file is hiding, related to Safari, on my laptop so I can successfully get rid of this beta “app” (it is NOT found in the App Store) and run the application on Safari like I did before I clicked that button for the beta app… yes, I never should’ve clicked that button, but I did and now it seems there’s no going back. In fact, now, Safari only downloads the beta app and the Roblox files never even get a chance to download onto my computer so there’s still something hiding somewhere on Safari or Roblox simply isn’t allowing one to download this as an application on MacOS anymore.
FYI - Roblox still runs completely fine, as an application, on my desktop (on Safari) because I knew better than to click the button. I realize that my desktop and my laptop run different versions of MacOS but both are new (within the past 2-3 yrs) and are up fully updated.
I’ll put in a help desk ticket with Roblox to let them know what’s happening and do some research on discord to see what’s going on and if someone can walk me through this. I’ll post the fix as soon as I find it because the Roblox beta app for MacOS is terrible. We only play on iPads/iPhones if we’re stuck at an appt and bored. We would not play for any significant amount of time on these devices at home.
