Customize look of Mail 14 on OS Big Sur?

Hello:

I just upgraded to Big Sur, and I am having trouble reading the fonts on the Mail 14 homepage.

For example, on my screen, and with the lighting in my office, I often cannot see which mail boxes in the mailbox list have new messages. It is just too pale.

I can see how to change the font on the message list (though not how to put horizontal lines between message headings, making them easier to read).

But there seems to be no way to customize the fonts in the mailbox column, in Mailbox view.

Any ideas?

Any plug-ins that give it a facelift?

Try the following:

Adjust the brightness and contrast on your monitor
System Preferences -> General -> Sidebar icon size change to Large
System Preferences -> Accessibility -> Display -> Increase contrast
System Preferences -> General -> Dark Mode and adjust the Accent Color
Alter the lighting in your office or move the location of your computer

I do not see an option for a grid view with horizontal lines in the mailbox listing of email.

Apple Mail no longer allows 3rd party add-ons / plug-ins.

There are a variety of alternative email Apps in the App Store.
