S3, Watch OS8, Workout App: time no longer displayed

After upgrading my S3 to Watch OS8 the current time is no longer displayed when using the workout application. It is a bit annoying having a watch that does not provide the time.

Is there a setting I need to modify or is this a known bug, or is this the way forward with the S3 when using during workouts? Thanks, Ed P.

Hello epereira,

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities!

We see that the current time is no longer displayed during a workout after updating to watchOS 8.

We’d be happy to help you!

You should still be able to see the time during a workout on the newest watchOS version.

We recommend referring to Use the Workout app on your Apple Watch and restarting the watch next per How to restart your Apple Watch.

Take care.
