Video flickering on Facebook messenger.

Just seen there’s a messenger update tonight ver. 334.1 up to now it’s stopped flickering now.

try it, hope it fixes for you all.

An iOS 15 issue that is seen no where but in Facebook Messenger…

Here is another for you. Save the video from Facebook Messenger and play it in Photos app. Surprise. No longer flickering…

Yes i know what this is and its a bug with in the latest version of Messenger.

I have provided an example of this to Facebook and hope they fix it as its only on mobile devices

They were right. The issue is with the app and for Facebook developers to fix it. Talk to Facebook about it.

Issues with non-Apple apps are for the app developer to fix it. So yes, the suggestion you got is one you should follow.

because I guarantee you if I email Facebook trying to get ahold of their development team I will most likely never get a response.

That doesn't mean they won't acknowledge the issue and work on it. In fact, that is how most of software developers actually work. Developers 'speak' back by putting fixes into app updates.

Even Apple don't respond to bug reports submitted using feedback form at www.apple.com/feedback.

Yes I have the same issue iphone 12 pro max. It was already flickering even before updating to ios 15.0.1. I also tried uninstalling and re-installing the messenger app but nada. I tried saving the video and watching it on my phone the flickering doesn't happen so it must be the facebook app? I reported the issue to Facebook but I didn't get a reply.

My friend just bought the iPhone 12 Pro Max with IOS 15 and she doesn’t have this video flickering problem!

She might be using different version of Facebook Messenger app. Open App Store app and check if you have any pending updates for Facebook Messenger app.

This makes no sense to blame 3rd party apps.

Does the video playback flickering happens elsewhere beside Facebook Messenger app? If not, then that is for Facebook to address.

I have the same issue of video flickering on Facebook messenger. I just bought my iPhone 13 yesterday . Please can anyone help me fix my problem. I suppose to give this to my daughter but too sad there is some issue on it.

I’m having the same issues along with my phone not responding to things I click on sometimes. When ever I try to watch a YouTube video I have to tap it multiple times for my iPhone 13 pro to respond. The glitching and flickering on videos is bothering me as well.

Agreed on the race reaching out to Facebook. Mine is doing it not only when I open videos but when I record them. Now I have had some people tell me of course these are android users, that when they view my videos, it does not flicker, so that part is good for that at least but for me, as an epileptic a nightmare looking at the videos. And the suggestion to save every video in order to watch it just seems ridiculous, especially when they’re talking about utilizing storage space. And my apologies that it does not solve the problem but I suppose just a venting space.
