No more wake screen option

I upgraded to watchOS 8.0 and wake screen no longer exists. It’s not that it doesn’t work it’s the the option “wake screen” no longer exists! I’ve tried resetting and hard resetting with no resolution. How do I get it back???

This was driving me crazy, too, but I found it! Go to Settings>Display and Brightness

Then there are setting for the wake screen, s well as the audio auto mode (which is why I needed to find the wake screen options.)

Hello. I am having the same problem, but from a different perspective. My issue has to do with the Wake Screen settings for specific apps, like Keynote. Here are some instructions I was trying to follow from https://support.apple.com/en-ca/HT204623:

Keynote works best with these settings on your Apple Watch:

  1. On your Apple Watch, tap Settings on the Home screen.
  2. Tap General, then tap Wake Screen.
  3. Scroll down, then tap Keynote.
  4. Tap Custom, then tap After Crown Press.

I don't see Keynote under Wake Screen anywhere from my watch settings or on the Watch app on my iPhone. Any ideas?

Thanks!

What about Wake screen is not working? Are you looking on the Watch, or in the Watch app on the iPhone? The Wake settings in the Watch app on the iPhone should be located in Settings>Display & Brightness>Wake on Wrist Raise. Also, if the screen is remaining black, it is possible that Theater Mode has been activated. Swipe up from the bottom of the Watch screen to bring up Control Center. Find the icon with the 2 theater masks. If it is white, it is off, if yellow it is turned on. If you turn it off, the Watch should be back to normal.

No more wake screen option
