Apple Pay Verification Code

How do I change the mobile number that Apple is sending the Verification Code to? I’m in Spain and have a Spanish number while I am here. I do not have access to texts to my US number, unless they are send to and from other Apple devices. I can only view them on my iPad. How do I change the phone number where the Apple Wallet/Pay verification code is sent, without losing the ability to receive and send texts on my US Phone number while I am here in Spain? It’s never simple ;)
