Magic mouse too sensitive in EXCEL

When in EXCEL a light sideways swipe of the finger over the magic mouse, mostly accidental, causes a very fast sideways scrolling action, often all the way across the sheet. This is very annoying and I can't see a way to adjust it or turn it off.

This question has been asked before and it seems respondents reply without reading the question properly. This is NOT the same as tracking speed. Tracking speed is related to moving the mouse over the mouse mat, and that can of course be adjusted in system settings.

There is, as far as I can tell, no System Preference for this kind of swipe. Apple does not seem to recognise it at all. I have all my "more gestures" turned off anyway.

I only see it in EXCEL so it may be a Microsoft thing (who can say?). However, I have been through all the EXCEL preferences but can find nothing about the mouse at all. Am I missing something or is there no way to solve this problem?

YES! That is what I was looking for. Thanks very much :-)

I can indeed change the scroll speed or turn off scrolling altogether.

The only niggle now is that when it is right for EXCEL it's a bit slow in other places, like Firefox and Word. After some experimentation, I settled on a compromise of FAST scrolling but no inertia. In EXCEL this means it goes just one page across and doesn't spin off to the end of the worksheet. In Firefox, Word etc. it means I tend to use the scrollbar more it I want to go further than one page.

Still, now I know where it is! It never occurred to me to look there. I wonder why it is so deeply hidden in System Preferences --> Accessibility --> Pointer Control --> Mouse Options and not just in System Preferences --> Mouse?

Is kind of interesting to see How apple managed this communities.

You never know how much word I'd put at here at first place.(Many details are loss) I guess they've got enough reason to do so.(They don't like knowledge flows) This place is one of many properties they very own. Maybe user's post also?
