Yeah, I tried lots of possible solutions. None worked. I wanted to avoid clearing my Recent Calls list, but from what I was reading in a number of places, that would be the real solution. I called Verizon. They claimed there was some setup problem with my SIM and they got it fixed, but that did not fix the issue. So what I did was just delete each entry in the Recent Calls list that was for the person I was trying to call. Voila! I could call the person without the error. (I'm still not sure what would happen if you let it call with the "remaining line.") Anyway, that proved to me that clearing the list is the solution and I'll either do that or use the "one at a time" approach. Just wanted to mention that so others would know this optional solution.
I’ve been having the same problem for about a week. I posted on here but no one’s helped me either. Does yours do it whether it’s from recent calls or your contact list? Only asking because mine does it in both. People say to delete your recent calls if it’s happening from your recently called numbers. I did that but it’s still doing it on my phone. I was hoping the last update (15.1.1) would help but that didn’t do anything either. I may have to bring my phone to Apple to see if they can fix it
I have the same problem and I reset the network setting and it didn't help. Any other options? For me, it is not in my recent calls where this issue happens but in my contacts. I have had the phone for over a month now, iPhone 13 pro. not the max.
I have the same issue with my iPhone 13 Pro Max. It never happens with my iPhone 13. It happens 100% of the time for 3 of my contacts, some of the time with others, and never with others. Oddly, I've tried deleting those offending contacts and recreating them. Same thing. I've tried deleting the contacts and calling the phone numbers directly and same thing happens. I've tried deleting my entire call log (something I routinely do anyway), and same thing happens. I have closed apps (something I routinely do anyway) and rebooted my phone (something I routinely do anyway, and the problem persists. I've reset Network settings at least 3 times.
I see this message almost everytime I call someone from my Contacts or my Recents list. I just touch "call" and the call goes through. I'm not seeing any additional lines on my AT&T bill. But it's annoying. And I don't want to delete my Recents list. That's a workaround for a issue this phone shouldn't have.
This is a new phone, 13 Max Pro, online for 1 month. My last phone was an iPhone 6 Plus (that's right, 6). Same phone number I've had since 1998. This new phone was extremely expensive and I am hoping Apple will fix this issue soon.
I've reported in this thread weeks ago that I began experiencing this issue when I got my iPhone 13 Pro Max. I've done everything recommended in this thread. And I've done it all multiple times. I continue to experience the problem. Furthermore, my husband experiences the problem with his iPhone 13 Pro Max. Both of us just happen to have iPhone 13 phones for work. NEITHER of the iPhone 13 phones experience this issue.
You can call your carrier and they will activate the physical SIM for you, if the card you have has been used before you will most likely need a new one, but you can go to your carriers store to get one or they can mail you one. You will need your IMEI and SIM number to make the change. :-)
I just got the iPhone 13 Pro Max about 5 days ago. The first time I received that exact same error message, I went back to the Verizon store and asked them what was the problem.
The tech said that the cellular was turned off. He turned it on and it was fine until today when I started getting that message again. So I googled the error message, ended up here, did what it suggested above and voilà! It worked like a charm. Thanks for the info.
My new iPhone 13 periodically want allow me to call particular phone numbers. There is a message appearing saying… last line no longer available do you want to use your remaining line….call or cancel🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️
i’ve also had this on iPhone 13 Mini.
i have no idea what sims are on this thing (1, 2, micro, -esim) or how apple store provisioned it for ATT network.
I backed up iphone 8.
in the store, had to upgrade new 13m ios before restoring.
Then restored to the new phone.
everything worked peachy for a week, used new phone in the northwest U.S.
then flew home to midwest.
made some calls and textx.
then i made a call and got same cryptic message, “last line no longer available, want to use the othe/“
so i said sure, not knowing what other line…
never had dual lines on a phone.
call to same person still didn’t work, but ither calls did work.
cleared recent call history.
problem went away BUT one number in my favorites, total fail.
Person calls me, no ring, straight to VM, but i get neither VM nor texts.
I call them, same deal.
called ATT, they sent some code to my phone with power off.
still not fixed yet.
we also tried removing the ‘att call protect” spam blocker app and all its data, it had been showing weirdness.
tried turning off “silence for unknown callers.’
I’ve multiple times done hard-power-off - up/ down / hold-power.
real mystery here, and now it’s just one of my contacts not working far as i know.
this would be a great phone virus.
no one gets any calls, except spam (those still often seem to get through).
friends break up because ‘no one calls back.”
Society collapses.
Last Line No Longer available is a very common and frustrating issue.
It typically occurs when you get a new iPhone or update to a major iOS. I faced this issue after updating to iPhone.
I spent hours researching solutions and made a note of the same.
Follow the steps below to fix Last Line No Longer Available.
1 Clear Recent Call log.
2. Disable WiFi calling.
3. Restart your iPhone.
4. Turn off Network Selection.
5. Update network settings.
6. Turn off Network Selection.
7. Remove and reinsert SIM.
8. Switch on and switch off AirPlane mode.
The issue was resolved after I cleared the recent call log.
Hope you were able to resolve the error with above steps.
SOLVED:
After receiving the same error and trying multiple solutions I was unsuccessful in clearing the error. After reading another response that the error related to the esim and physical sim conflicting, I removed my SIM card waited 30 seconds and replaced it. Voilà. No more issue. This was the only solution that worked and I haven’t had the problem since.
Ok, as to the not being able to call: false alarm. Somehow i fumbled the “block contact” to “on” while handling the phone. So, scratch that issue as resolved.
now, as to the “use your other line?”, i will try removing the sim after i find out how to do so.
I have but I have the iPhone 11.. I did the clear recent call list and I can make calls but the phone keeps freezing and restarting. My messages are now sending in green and is still freezing and restarting. What's happening?
For whatever reason, i get this message the first time I select a number from my recent calls, after I call it, i no longer get that message for that particular number, a bit strange, seem like a bug which needs to be updated in next version of software
I had this same problem and I cleared my recent list and it worked for a bout a month. Now when I use apple car play it wont dial unless I pick up my phone and go through the "Last line no longer available" message. This did not happen on my Iphone 11 Pro. Just now that my wife and I have upgraded to the Iphone 13 Max Pro.
