Why does iPhone 13 Pro show 5G and 5GE?

Just got the iPhone 13 Pro. While driving around town (near Atlanta), I see 5G and 5GE on my phone. Does this mean there is a 5G tower in my town and am I getting 5G service?

Let me guess... AT&T?

5G is 5G.

5Ge is AT&T's marketing term for 'faster LTE, but not really 5G'.

When you see "5G", you're connected to a tower with 5G service. When you see "5GE", you're on LTE.

As an interesting side note. AT&T got their hands slapped for this. They stopped using 5GE in their advertising, but it still shows up on the phone.
