iPhone keyboard inexplicably switches to numbers/symbols while typing.

I've seen earlier posts about people experiencing typing frustrations as the iPhone keyboard inexplicably switches to numbers/symbols while typing despite not tapping the '1 2 3' key.

Sometimes it occurs more frequently than others and seemly without any reason or pattern.

I'm using a new iPhone 13 that I've had for just a few days--but I never experiences this problem on any of my past iPhones.

Is there any fix for this glitch?

Congratulations on your iPhone 13. Are you using a third-party keyboard? If you change keyboards, does the issue persist? Here’s how to change the keyboard: Add or change keyboards on iPhone - Apple Support

Does this occur in a particular app(s)? Did you restore your iPhone from a previous backup?

I've turned off 'Slide to Type' and that seems to be helping for the moment . . . but I need to give it a day or two of regular use before I know for sure.

I have no other keyboards installed to remove (just the US English keyboard) so I don't know if removing and reselecting that keyboard will help.

I notice the keyboard switching most often while using the Messages app--(but that's also because that's the app in which I most commonly type).
