Magic Keyboard and audio function keys F10, F11 and F12.

I had to replace my magic keyboard which I use with a MacBook Pro. The previous keyboard died an untimely death when I spilled a drink on it. The new keyboard does change the audio level when F10, F11 or F12 are pressed. How do I get the function keys to change the audio settings?

MacBook, OS X 10.11

Hello cfly,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. We understand you want to change your audio from the Function keys and will do what we can to help.

Double check the preferences for the keyboard, especially "Use F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys" box is checked: Change Keyboard preferences on Mac

If you're still not able to control audio, try restarting the Mac from the Apple () menu then Restart.

Cheers.
