iPhone 13 Swipe Up Screen Not Working Properly

I just found a solution!

I had the issue of no slide up from within apps on iphone 13. Read forums and most said update and restart. I did that, still no fix.

Dove into settings a bit and found the solution!

Go into Settings, Accessibility, Motion, turn off Reduce Motion.

And that’s it!

Hope this helps some other frustrated person.

iOS 15.0.1 was released October 1, 2021. Back up your iPhone to iCloud or your computer, update to this new version of the iOS, and restart your iPhone.

A fellow named Les suggested going to Settings/Accessibiity and turning Reduce Motion off. It wked for me and I hope it will do the same for you

I spoke with an apple advisor over the phone and we essentially reset the device from scratch. Re-installed IOS and so far (24 hours), the issue has resolved. I recommend you speak with them to walk you through the steps. Just make sure everything is on Icloud!

The people commenting recently, have you made sure your phone is updated? I just ask because I commented on this thread at the beginning of November and since then I have done an update and my phone is now working properly.

Try this suggestion from another user. It isn’t 100% effective, but it is much, much better.

Go to Settings.

Select Accessibility

Turn off ‘Reduce Motion’.

I actually found a fix. It’s a “button” you can put on your phone which will take you to the pages you had up before you lost your swipe. I have added a few screen shots of what it looks like when you touch it.

This will put a virtual home button that sits on your screens

Its not perfect, but it’s SO much. Enter than without anything.

This is working consistently for me! I was getting very frustrated.

Swipe up, hold your finger there for a second or two and the apps appear!

I have this same issue with the swipe up to unlock a new iPhone 13 Pro running iOS 15.0.2. Although it is intermittent the issue is really pronounced when Voiceover is on. It's almost impossible to unlock the screen by touching the lower bezel & swiping up. I also have an iPhone 13 mini running iOS 15.0.2 and with VoiceOver on I have the same issue. The 13 pro has been reset and restored from iCloud but still has the issue. Using FaceID and Siri to get around the swipe issue.

I just go to Siri with my side button which is the power button or jus say hey siri if you have that set up and say “ open phone “ works for me when I can’t swipe up :)

Same issues with my new iPhone 13 mini. Set lock mode in “never mode and phone is still locking after update 15.1 iOS the other night. Also shut down phone and all background apps were closed prior. Restarted phone to no avail.

I'm having the exact same issue on my iphone 13 pro. Seems like a glitch in the software but not sure.
