IOS 15 upgrade and default email address not working on iPhone

I upgraded to IOS 15 now my iCloud email on the phone will not default to an iCloud address it's blank. I have to chose it every time in order to send messages. It worked in IOS 14. Apple has not been able to help me with this seems like a bug. I have an iPhone 11 Pro Max. Any suggestions?

GMail not marked read on computer after reading on iphone Ever since downloading the new IOS 16 on my iphone 14 pro I have been having email problems. I use the apple mail app to sync and access all my email accounts (multiple gmail). I can access my gmail account emails on the apple mail but after reading them I noticed that when I log into my one of my gmail accounts on my computer the emails that I previously read on my iphone with new IOS 16 are not marked as read but rather as unread. There is a synching issue between gmail and apple after this new IOS 16 release that is not sending the notification to the gmail servers that the emails have been read on iphone. Anyone have a solution for this?
