Why does Audible keep stopping when my phone screen goes dark?

Ever sense I updated my iPhone to iOS 15 whenever I listen to Audible and my screen goes dark the audiobook stops. Now I know this has been an issue for others over the last year. And I know Apple wants to push the blame onto Audible. So here’s the thing in the last 4 days Audible has put out 2 updates that fixed the problem, for less then 24 hours. This tells me that it’s not Audible that’s having the problem but the iOS that’s continually marking Audible not work. And while yes Audible has something that would block auto lock that would keep my screen on while I’m listening and that would make my battery die way to quickly to be helpful. So this is really less of a “why is this happening” and more a plea to Apple to stop messing with my audiobooks. (The music app can play fine with the screen off but that doesn’t help me here)
