Bluetooth issues with iPhone 13

I have a Plantronics bluetooth headset that I have used for more than a year with my older iphone. Upon trading in for a new iPhone 13, it will not pair. In fact, no bluetooth device shows as available in my settings. How do I fix this?

iPhone 13 mini, iOS 15

Hi scavendish,

Welcome to the Apple Community,

Guess you have checked that the headset is properly charged, and turned on.

Wondering if you have checked with the manufacturer that your headset is compatible with iPhone 13

I have the same issues with a bluetooth OneTouch blood sugar device. Was working fine with my prior iPhone 12: my iPhone 13 pro will no longer pair with this device. I have done the usual troubleshooting: replaced battery in the OneTouch, turned bluetooth on on the OneTouch, checked to see that bluetooth is turned on on the phone, ensured that the OneTouch app on the phone is enabled for bluetooth and wifi access, restarted the phone, etc. Something has changed with the iPhone 13 so that bluetooth with non-apple devices isn't working.

I have multiple Bluetooth devices connected to my iPhone 13 Pro Max, which are not Apple devices and were paired with my 12 Pro Max before the 13 Pro Max.

Your statement that something changed with iPhone 13 with non-Apple devices isn't accurate. What is accurate is you are clearly having an issue with your OneTouch device. Have you read the OneTouch owners manual about pairing the device to see if you've missed a step in the pairing process? Often people don't realize they have to put a Bluetooth device in Pairing Mode for it connect. And if a device is paired with a previous device and that previous device is possibly nearby and powered on, it may not pair with another device.

If nothing helps, contact the device manufacturer for help. I can assure you Apple has not removed 3rd party device compatibility with iPhone 13 phones.
