Alarm only rings with default ringtones on my iPhone 13 Pro

Here’s the fix…remove the song from your downloads. Then, go into settings and tap your Music settings, scroll down to the “download in Dolby atmos” and turn it OFF. Then re download the song into your music library and set your alarm with that song. Works perfectly. Must be some sort of glitch when Apple started this Dolby atmos feature.

I figured it out! Ok, like a few people said, "you need to download the song in the Music App." I agreed, of course, I had it downloaded. For some reason, though, the song will play even though it isn't technically downloaded. Weird, I know. Dumb, completely. But it is true.

Open the Music App and find the song you want to use. In the top right, you'll see a down arrow. This is to the left of the 3 dots. Click that and download it to your phone. You know it works when it is a checkmark. I did that, and the next alarm, the correct song played!

I figured it out. Open your music, open songs, on the right there are 3 dots “ . . . “ you have to click on that then click on download. Even though your music is on hour phone it’s not downloaded. I don’t know why but that is the solution.

Hi, I had the same exact issue. However the following worked for me:

Go into your Music app and simply purchase and download the song that you are using for your alarm. Then go back into your clocks app and reselect the song that you have just downloaded. It should then work.

Go to Settings, scroll down and go into Music, under Audio ensure Dolby Atmos is Off and also below that in Downloads ensure Download in Dolby Atmos is off. My alarm is now playing songs for me.

i Just recently bought an iPhone 13 pro max and had the same issue. There is now a focus app, in that app go to settings. Once there you can choose apps that can be played or opened during do not disturb. Choose your alarm app, your music app and then make sure the song is downloaded on your phone. That should allow songs to play on the alarm...also pretty sure the apple specialist doesn't know what he was talking about!

Here is the solution that worked for me. I have Apple Music, but automatic download was turned off. The solution was to go into my apple music library and download the song to be used by the alarm. I hope this helps others.

As per my post 03 Mar 22, the fix was easy for me with iPhone 13 Pro Max and I recently changed my alarm music with no issues.

I had this problem too. The fix I discovered is that the songs I was trying to use were not physically downloaded on my device (they were streaming from Apple Music). Once I downloaded the songs, they worked as alarms on the native iOS alarm app. Hope this helps!

This worked for us. My wife had the songs downloaded when I asked her but when we went to check in the music app the songs weren’t downloaded. Once we re-downloaded them the alarms worked properly again.

Was struggling with this too until I actually purchased the song - now it works. In the clock app go to alarm > sound > tone store then search for the song in there. Don’t know why we can’t just use songs under the Apple music subscription.

If you go to the purchased song and click on the 3 dots after it, you can then click on download and it will appear in your downloaded songs and work for the alarm.

You have to actually purchase the song first (not just have it in your library under the Apple Music subscription)

I finally got it working. You really need to go to the Apple music app to download the song and not use the "Pick a song" link to the Apple Music. It's clearly a bug but at least this bypass the issue.

Managed to tackle it.

I did several steps, but the most important was the first one imo since I transferred to a new iPhone from old one

1. I logged into my account through Music app.
2. Bought my ringtone song through iTunes Store app. I have Apple Music subscription but decided to do it anyway
3. Downloaded song through iTunes Store app

Everything works fine now. Although I haven't yet tried other songs with my alarm.
