Focus / Do Not Disturb - When I Leave this Location

I was able to fix the DND (while at this location) on my iPhoneSE and IPhone 8.

I went to Settings, Privacy, Location Services, Share My Location, and changed My Location to THIS DEVICE. if you see anything except This Device, change it and this should resolve your issue

Otherwise my iPhone was using my Tablet or other phone on my account as the (My Location).

As soon as you leave the area a banner will appear telling you that DND has been turned off.

As information I do not use the passcode 2 factor authentication, which allows you to switch the share Focus with other devices.

My share is greyed out and is turned off, yet it still shares the DND settings.

Just wanted to inform everyone when you do an update, check your settings under location. The update may default to your Tablet or other phone on your account. Make sure it is set to THIS DEVICE. Good luck !

If that doesn't seem to help, please provide some more information about the issue. For example, is this feature not working every time you try to use it? Is the issue that Do Not Disturb remains enabled after leaving a location, although you've selected the correct option?

Just as information it is not your phone. I have an iPhone8 , iPhone SE and 7th generation tablet. Everything worked fine until FOCUS was installed. Now all three devices do exactly as everyone is describing with the feature Do Not Disturb “While At This Location”. Focus just keep changing to your current location as you travel. Hope they can resolve this issue quickly! They definitely have a software issue. Keep our fingers crossed.

I just spoke to Apple support. It is a known issue since December and Apple is investigating. The advice is to follow the upcoming software updates and the related documentation.

Yes. 15.2.1. But mine was working before this update. I bought the new phone the beginning of December. And after I restored my new phone from a backup on my Mac and updated it’s software this issue has been working fine. New phone is iphone 13 Pro.

@Sparks0829 - I believe the issue is you set DND location.... if you look at the the DND location after driving, say 40miles from the original location, you get your current location instead.

So maybe the bug is that DND location changes to your current location, so DND thinks you never left? In other words, you set DND to within 1 mile from "X"... but X keeps changing as you move.

This is now working on my iphone 13. I’ve updated to the newest software, yesterday and still works. All’s fine.

I have this same issue on my iPad Pro. It worked perfectly until IOS 15. I tap Focus --> Do Not Disturb --> Until I Leave this Location. Under that, it recognized my location as "work." A checkmark appeared when I clicked it. Then when I got home, I noticed it correctly listed my location as "home," but it was still check marked and the moon symbol was still present indicating Do Not Disturb was still on. It did not turn off when I left the first location. This never happened in IOS 14 and earlier. It started after updating to IOS 15. Location services are turned on.

I have two iPhone 12s. And two iPad Air 3. One one pair (iPhone & iPad) the Share Focus is turned off. All are running 15.1. None have any Focus setting, nor were any ever used or setup. Location Services are on for all devices.

Both phones had DND Until Leave Location on at home and showed home as the location. Accessed through Control drop down. iPads stayed home. After driving 10 miles away both phones showed DND still on and location was different (local address shown).

Used a second time and noticed that DND was still on 12 hours later at a different location.

Let us know when you fix it, great option otherwise.

Another user here with the exact same problem. It turns DND on just fine but no matter how far away you travel it never turns it off again. Geofencing with DND is definitely broken. iPhone 13 Pro Max. I love my iPhone but I just hate that Apple continues to just leave all us loyal customers hanging on issues like this year after year.

I have the exact same problem as others.

It's a feature I learned to rely on for a while. I hope Apple fixes it soon.

I'm on 15.2. It seems that it's not able record the location where the DND was set... or it's continuously updating the DND location making it lose its value.

I am running iOS 15.2.1 on an iPhone 12. Used DND twice on my phone and once on partner’s phone. Both phone DND functions are working. Did not need to change anything else on the phone and nothing on the iPad. Share Location is ON for all devices. Yeah!
