Focus / Do Not Disturb - When I Leave this Location

I have used the Do Not Disturb - Until I Leave this Location for years with no issues. However, since receiving my iPhone 13 Pro Max with iOS 15, I have noticed that it no longer works correctly. When I use that setting on the new iPhone, it puts it into Do Not Disturb; however, it does not come out of that mode once you change locations requiring you to remove it manually. Very frustrating! I have verified all of the settings are correct and have power cycled the phone a few times with no resolution. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

I was able to fix the DND (while at this location) on my iPhoneSE and IPhone 8.

I went to Settings, Privacy, Location Services, Share My Location, and changed My Location to THIS DEVICE. if you see anything except This Device, change it and this should resolve your issue

Otherwise my iPhone was using my Tablet or other phone on my account as the (My Location).

As soon as you leave the area a banner will appear telling you that DND has been turned off.

As information I do not use the passcode 2 factor authentication, which allows you to switch the share Focus with other devices.

My share is greyed out and is turned off, yet it still shares the DND settings.

Hope this works for everyone else. Good luck!

Thank you for responding. I am not trying to setup a custom location-based Focus, but trying to use the default/preset one that is a native option in the phone. The Smart Activation button only appears when you are creating a custom Focus.

I get to the function I am referring to by doing this - In Control Center I long press the Focus button. The first option that appears is Do Not Disturb. Taping on the the three dots on the right side of that button brings up sub-options for Do Not Disturb. One of them is "Until I Leave this Location." This feature worked flawlessly before iPhone 13 and iOS 15.

Does this make sense?

Thanks, Rob

Yes, yes, yes!!! I have the exact same issue. Why, oh why, would Apple screw with a very handy and, previously, reliable feature? They should have left DND alone and not incorporated it into “Focus”. Perhaps they could now “Focus” on fixing this problem. From all my online research I’m starting to believe that Apple intended for all of us to setup different Focus schemes for each and every notification instead of leaving well enough alone. As the guy currently in the White House likes to say - “Come on man?!” Apple, please start addressing the problem instead of referring to it as a non-issue.
