iPhone 13 Pro won't play through car USB

I recently upgraded from an iPhone X. I’ve never had any issues playing music through the USB in my car. I have tried several times now to play music with my new IPhone 13pro and it simply won’t play. It either acts like it’s going to play and then doesn’t and even if I hit play again it won’t start, or it seems to become frozen and I have to force close my Apple Music/Pandora. The cord is charging my phone so I don’t think it’s an issue with the cable. Has anyone else has this happen since switching to the new model? It will let me play through the AUX port both use the lightning connection to plug in to the phone, I’m not sure what the difference is.

I have the iPhone 13 and was able to play music in my car through aux before the 15.1 update. Immediately after it says aux can’t be found, but my phone still charges. It has to be a software problem. I restarted my car restarted my phone nothing works.

It's a lighting to mini-audio jack cable that worked in my Camaro except that it doesn't charge. You'd hardly notice the headphone jack input next to the USB plug if you didn't really look hard but of course every car and phone and system is different. It's hard to imagine that they could make everything any more incompatible if they were actually trying to do that as their only goal. Maybe this link will show you. https://www.amazon.com/Certified-Lightning-Braided-Compatible-iPhone/dp/B07P5Q8SC1/ref=asc_df_B07P5Q8SC1/?

Yesterday i updated my iPhone 13 pro to iOS 15.2. I hoped that the problem of having no sound via the lightning cable would be fixed. No such luck. My car software connects to the phone, shows the music that should play but there is no sound. I tried a few options given in this thread but nothing worked. This is starting to get annoying. Is there anyone with a good idea?
