Hi faded4words,
Thanks for the follow up!
That is helpful information, however, it doesn't do anything to help isolate the location of your issue. On the MagSafe Duo charger, there is a specific charger for the Apple Watch. We're talking about testing the MagSafe side where your iPhone goes since that's the one you're currently having issues with. Not the Apple Watch charging side.
You'll need to isolate whether the issue is the MagSafe charger or the iPhone. To do this, you can try placing another device that has wireless charging capability on the MagSafe side of the charger. This can be another iPhone, a different brand smartphone that has wireless charging, headphones, etc. Or you can try placing the iPhone on another wireless charger if you have access to any. You'll need to determine which device is not working (the charger or the iPhone) so you know which one needs the repair when you contact Apple.
If you do not have any way to isolate the issue (no access to other wireless charge capable devices and no access to any other wireless chargers) then you may need to take both the charger and the phone to an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider, so they can do these tests, figure out which device has the issue and then proceed with repair on the appropriate device.
