Two questions about whatsapp on my phone

My whatsapp has taken up 20G of my phone storage. I don’t want to delete all the messages and media. Where on my iPhone can I select the parts I want to delete?
At the moment I cannot even open the app. I have updated iOS, deleted apps so there’s enough storage on my phone. What next?

You can delete individual conversations and images. However, if you are having problems with the app you will need help from WhatsApp support, as WhatsApp is not an Apple product.
