Google Search Suggestions

HI,

The "search suggestions" come from your Google history and autofill searches.

From the Safari Menu Bar click Safari/Preferences then select the General tab.

Click the pop up menu next to: "Remove history items". Set it for more than one day

Now click the Autofill tab. Make sure the button next to: "Other forms" is selected.

I too have noticed this recently. Unfortunately, your suggestions did not help. I noticed that if I use either Yahoo or Bing search that the search suggestions show up.

Strange.

This just started happening for me as well. Both Yahoo and Bing are providing suggestions however the Google option is not. I thought it was something I disabled, however I do not see any options outside of changing the search provider.

I'm also having this problem. It could just be that the Google server that handles the suggestions is temporarily down? I only say this because I haven't changed any of the settings in safari in a long time and I just noticed this problem.

Google suggestions aren't showing up for me either.

I think you may be right - they worked last night here for me, when reading the first post in this thread, but do not work this morning, after quitting Safari.

Yup, not working for me either, in the Safari search field. It was fine 12 hours ago.

Still works in Firefox and Chrome

It's not working for me either. The Google and Bing suggestions doesn't work for me. Just Yahoo works well...

Add my name to the list. Google search suggestions were working late last night, but as of this morning they're gone.

Something has happened. Someone is responsible.

Ditto. All I get is my recent searches, options to select Google, Bing or Yahoo, and a local search for the page. 'Sup?

As of now, google search suggestions feature does not work on Macs running Safari 5.0.1 (we tested on 2 iMacs and 5 MacBook Pros). However, this feature works when Bing or Yahoo! are the engines being used.

On the same machines, Firefox displays google search suggestions as usual.

Interestingly, it is working normally on iPhone 3G/3GS and iPad.

It's really annoying, because I much prefer using google, and this feature is very handy.

You can add my name to the list. It was working yesterday but not today. However Yahoo search suggestions are working. Google has worked with Safari 5.01 but stopped today. So it is not a Safari problem as it did work since upgrading to 5.01

Same here, just stopped working with google today, it was working fine yesterday. I have tried the suggested actions, but no luck. I hope this is fixed soon as i miss the suggested search for google.

Funny thing is, the Google Search Suggestions are working fine on the iPad. It's only on Safari that it's not working for me. I too thought I accidentally clicked some setting to turn them off.
