Mac 2012 OS for Da Vinci Resolve

Hello!

I have a Mac Pro tower from 2012. I am wanting to add Da Vinci Resolve but from what I have read I need at least 10.8.5 OS for compatibility--my Mac Pro is 10.13. I was also considering updating the OS to Big Sur or Catalina.

If anybody is able to help with this specific situation please let me know. I appreciate any help.

Thanks!

Thank you for your reply! I am reading from the link you sent.

I think I may have just answered my own question. I found a list of OS systems and I am much more informed...

In regard to my post... I read the specs wrong. I took a several years off from editing and I am trying to catch up with everything. It looked like 10.13 was less than 10.8.5 but I see that is not the case. Yikes. I thought I was reading something like 10.1.3... Wow. Not the case.

Computer Specs

2012 Mac Pro OS 10.5, dual 6 core, 3.64GHz, 64GB RAM and editing off of a RAID drive

Video Cards Options: RADEON 7950 3GB, GTX680, RX 570 8GB,  RX 560 4GB AMD Firepro

I want to know if a computer with the above specs will be compatible with DaVinci and if there will be performance issues, and if there are issues I am wondering how to resolve them ahead of time. I have not chosen the video card yet. I am going to read from the link you sent, hopefully find out more there.

The link you requested...

I was searching for DaVinci requirements yesterday and found 10.8.5... I also emailed DaVinci Resolve direct and they said I need 10.15.
