Messenger badges not working

I have iPhone 12 mini on iOS 15 and now the notification badges on Facebook Messenger app is not working. Everything else seems to be ok. I’ve already been through all the troubleshooting and also de and reinstalled the app with no luck. Is this a sofware problem on Apple’s behalf?
