Onscreen keyboard and iPad OS 15
As long as the Magic Keyboard is attached to my new iPad Air, the onscreen keyboard will not appear. Any ideas?

Hi Mingzi,
Thanks for reaching out about using your iPad with the Magic Keyboard. We can help with this. Try the steps in this article:
Set up and use Magic Keyboard for iPad
"Switch to the onscreen keyboard
You might need to use your onscreen keyboard instead of the Magic Keyboard to do things like type accented characters or use dictation.
To show the onscreen keyboard, tap a text field, then touch and hold on the lower-right corner of your iPad screen until the onscreen keyboard appears. To hide the keyboard again, tap on your iPad screen."
Take care.
Sorry, all I get when I tap the screen is that funny bar at the bottom, not the onscreen keyboard. But when I take the iPad Air out of the Magic Keyboard immediately the onscreen keyboard appears and works perfectly. And you are right, I do work with languages and so need all those extra little slashes and squiggles that the onboard keyboard provides.
All I get on the screen is this:
