Apple TV 4K (gen 2) soap opera effect

I have the latest ATV 4K playing on a Sony 900H. I cannot get the picture to look good. When I use my built in android apps on the tv I get the right results. When the ATV plays it there is lots of over smoothing and things look fake. I have match content and match frame rate on. Usually set to 4K SDR 60Hz but I know it’s changing when content changes. I’ve also manually changed it to different resolutions and no change but it’s not a resolution issue so not surprising. The motion settings on the tv are accurate it’s just like it’s not applying through hdmi. Tried different hdmi ports and no change. I’m usually using the eArc port though.

Is your Apple TV 4K connected directly to your TV?

We understand that you've tried different HDMI ports, have you also had the chance to try different HDMI cables?

In the meantime, we recommend that you make sure that you are using the latest version of tvOS.

While it isn't inherently assured that an update will resolve the issue, updating to the latest version of tvOS for your device can help isolate potential software issues.

Update your Apple TV

If the issue persists after making sure that the device is up to date, we recommend that you test if the issue persists on a different TV. If yes, we recommend that you use the "contact Apple Support" link on the last step of the article above.

Thanks for the reply, yes connected directly to the tv, no receive or anything in between. Tried different cable no change. Have to locate another tv to try out that test. Yes latest TvOS15 is also installed.
