Zapier integration

It seems that Apple apps (e.g. Mail, Calendar etc.) are not supported on Zapier. The concept of Zapier looks good, but it doesn't work for me at all, because Apple apps are not supported.

Is this because Apple want us to use Automator instead?

Does anyone have any advice on alternatives for Zapier?

Or should we be asking Apple to develop Zapier integrations?

Thanks for any advice.

Yes, macOS Monterey – which is "Coming this fall", but is already available via the Apple Beta Software Program. Read about Shortcuts in macOS Monterey by searching these three pages:

Shortcuts was first introduced for iOS 12 in 2018. This guide is Apple's current iOS & iPadOS documentation:

Apple also mentions there that they've built a migration tool that can convert most Automator workflows into Shortcuts. ...That sounds like Apple is planning to replace Automator by Shortcuts in the future.

I had never heard of Zapier until you mentioned it. It sounds like something that Automator or Shortcuts would do on an Apple platform. Plus, Apple would do it locally. It looks like you have to give Zapier access to your data in the cloud. I can't see Apple ever allowing that.

I had suspected that. I have never used Automator or Scripts before.

I had a look at Automator, and I did not find it as easy and intuitive to use as I'd expect from Apple.

What's the best way to learn how to use Automator / Scripts?

What's the difference between them?

Are they getting replaced by Shortcuts?
