Unlocking IPhone 6

My iPhone 6, purchased at an Apple store, was used on a cricket contract, then set aside when we terminated that contract. Now I want to put a TMobile SIM card in it. But Cricket tells me only Apple can unlock it. And Apple says only Cricket can unlock it. Help!!

It might be said that they’re both sorta right.

The Apple software on your device “technically” is what unlocks the device …

… but ONLY with a code which Cricket must provide.

You MUST get the code from Cricket; although your leverage is certainly diminished if you’re no longer “their” customer.

Best of luck.
