Mute FaceTime sound

With the new IOS 15 update, there is a sound on FaceTime when you mute someone. How do you get rid of that sound?

FaceTime sounds still active when iPhone is in silent mode When I have my iPhone set to silent (switch on left side of iPhone is set to silent), for whatever reason my FaceTime calls still come through with sound - and FaceTime is the only app that still produces sound when silent mode is on. We'd love to assist you with getting acclimated with the new FaceTime features. Although you're unable to turn off the sound, you can view what sounds you can manager here: Change FaceTime audio settings on iPhone.
