13-inch MacBook Pro Display Backlight Service Program, model 2017

Does anyone else thinks it's unprofessional to offer free display change for 2016 model and not 2017 model when the issue is absolutely the same (faulty connector cable)? It also doesn't make any sense to pay for a whole new display (probably round $800) when the problem is only with the cable that can cost maybe $10.

Does anybody know how to make an official complaint to Apple about this?

Thank you.
