In upgrading my iPhone to OS 15, and the watch to OS 8 the countdown timer freezes up when my wrist is facing down, like when I am using hand weights during exercise.
I have used the timer for exercise sessions for a long time and have never had this problem.
This happens more than 50% of the exercise session.

After several tests, the unpair/ repair of the watch seems to have fixed the problem.

If this behavior persists after rebooting both the iPhone and the Watch, consider unpairing the two devices, rebooting and then re-pairing.

Given that an unpair/re-pair process resolved the issue but it came back within a day, you'll want to work directly with Apple Support on additional options.

I have done some more testing, and now the problem is still there. When my wrist is turned so the watch is facing away from me, the timer gets stuck on 21 seconds from a start of 1:10. This is a bug in the OS 8 upgrade, I have never had this happen before with any of the previous OS. This is the watch 5.
