How do you delete multiple messages at the same time?

I've read all the posts regarding command-clicking and/or shift-command clicking, etc. to select multiple messages and tried them all but none work. I am only able to select one message at a time and then delete one message at a time. I'm using a M1 iMac running Big Sur. Please tell me there is a better way to do this! I can easily spend 10 minutes a day doing this and it only gets worse if I miss a day. Help!

Hello, TominBayHead.

Well, my friend, you can select and delete multiple message this way within a single conversation thread in Messages on your Mac. Unfortunately, you cannot select and delete multiple conversations in this way. There is no shortcut or way around it.
