Do Airpods Pro in Transparency Mode work with an iPhone?

The AirPods Pro works fine using the transparency mode (hearing amplification) while my iPhone is off.

But when the iPhone is on and I go out of the Bluetooth range the transparency mode shots down, and the only way to connect back is manually through the hearing widget and Headphone Accommodation. Is my Aipods Defective or that's normal behavior. Apple senior could not give me an answer.

Transparency mode not working on my AirPods Pro when I add the second one to my ear. I actually want to inform what I did to fix this as the previous answers to this question did not work for me. I did the reset for which you can find instructions on the web, and while I'm not sure this was necessary, it was my first step. I then found that instead of using the top right drop down on my iPhone to get to the Airpods app, I went into Settings/Bluetooth/Info and selected Transparency mode there and it started working again in both ears. Hope this helps someone!

airpods pro get out of sync when i use siri to turn on transparency when I am listening to something on my airpods pro, while connected to my iphone x running the latest build of ios13, if I say "Hey Siri, turn on transparency" or "Hey Siri, Turn on noise cancelling", it will do what I ask, but then the audio in my left airpod is a second or two behind the audio in my right airpod. If I remove the airpods and pout them back in my case for a few seconds and then put them back in my ears, it goes back to normal, but i would like to not have to do this every time. If I use the button on the airpod to turn on or off transparency or noise cancelling, i don't have this problem. anybody else have this issue?
