AirPods Max disappeared from device list

I opened the Apple Support app on my iPhone e to ask a question about my Airpods Max but they no longer appear on my list of devices.

The also didn’t show on the list of my devices under Settings > AppleID

The only thing I could think of was to close the app for a few minutes but that didn’t correct the list. I also tried restarting the iPhone but that didn’t fix it either.

what could an Apple decide to disappear of the list of registered devices?

NeddySeagoon,

It would be expected behavior to not see your AirPods Max in the device list when you go to Settings > [your name], then scroll down as that is a list of devices currently signed in to your Apple ID. AirPods are automatically associated with an Apple ID/iCloud once paired to the device signed into that account. You can expect to see them in Find My or under Bluetooth in Settings. Here's some more information about how to Check your Apple ID device list to see where you're signed in.

Cheers.

Hello NeddySeagoon,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities!

We understand that your AirPods Max are not showing up in your list of devices. We'd like to help.

Are you seeing them in Find My?

Did you recently connect your AirPods Max to another device using a different Apple ID/iCloud?

Make sure your AirPods are paired and connected to your device. Here's some information on how to Connect and use your AirPods Max. Note that, "If you're signed in to iCloud, your AirPods Max are set up automatically with any of your supported devices that are signed in to iCloud with the same Apple ID."

Do you AirPods show in the device list after pairing and connecting them?

Take care.

Thank you for responding.

I posted here because I was unable to contact Apple Support at the time.

I have spoken to them since then and they also say the AirPods won’t appear under Devices in Settings.

However they said that Airpods should appear under the list of devices in in the iOS Support. The agent needed time to research it but I didn’t have time to be on hold.

I will call them again on Thursday

are you an Apple Support agents? I ask because your message seems a little formal.

Apple Support claim Airpods won’t show in a list of devices under AppleID in Settings on my iPhone because it can’t be register with an email address.

The Airpods Max do shoe in the Find Me app - however I get the sound when I select that option - I get an email that the sound was emitted but I haven’t heard it.

I don’t have another AppleID. I only use an iPhone and an AppleTV.

Pairing with my iPhone by doesn’t make show in the list.
