World clock timer Alert volume almost too low to hear on iPhone 13 mini with IOS 15.0

The timer alert on the world clock application on my new iPhone 13 mini with IOS 15.0 is consistently at a almost inaudible level. In settings for Sounds and Haptics, Ringer and Alerts slider is set to maximum, Change with Buttons makes no difference. System Haptics on/off makes no difference.

In contrast, my iPhone 7 with IOS15 plays the timer alert at full volume, and with Change with Buttons enabled, the volume of the alert can be adjusted. This looks like an iPhone 13 problem.

Hi cnfromlambertville,

Thank you for participating in the Apple Support Communities. If you are not able to hear the alarm, this link will provide instructions on How to set and manage alarms on your iPhone - Apple Support.

If you device is using a case, you may want to remove that to test if the issue could be the way the case is put on. For further support, Contact - Official Apple Support.

Have a great day.

Hi. Judysings,

Unfortunately, none of the normal procedures affect the level of the alarm for the World Clock timer on my iPhone 13 mini. As yet, this cell phone has no case, so sound ports are unobstructed. When I change the alarm tone, the sample plays at a reasonable level, but the timer alarm remains barely audible,

It appears I will have to escalate this issue to Customer Support.

As I posted on Oct 5, the 15.0.1 update was not a solution.

My brother had the same issues with an iPhone 12. He learned that Attention Aware Features is a factor. See item 5 at Top 9 Fixes for iPhone Alarm Volume Is Low or Loud (guidingtech.com) where I discovered that alarm levels were very low when a user actively looks at the phone. Running the countdown timer and Sleep alarm to produce their alarm signals, I experienced normal alarm volumes when the iPhone was not in my view, but muted alarm volumes when I faced the screen of the iPhone. I used Settings > Face ID & Passcode and disabled Attention Aware Features. While there, I also disabled Require Attention for Face ID to disable related processing, thereby saving power.

Now I can use the timer and hear the pre-set volume of the alarm while facing the screen or with the iPhone out of view.
