Connecting Airpods to an old MacBook Air
is it possible to connect Airpods to a MacBook Air OS10.13.6? Bluetooth on this 2011-vintage computer does not recognize them? Any workaround possible?

Well, you have not told us which generation/model AirPods you have. Here are the requirements:
- AirPods Pro: MacOS 10.15.1 or later
- AirPods Second Generation: MacOS 10.14.4 or later
- AirPods First Generation: MacOS 10.12 or later
