How to see picture metadata without using "files" ? iPhone is much easier than iPad.

My son on the East coast was excited how he can see detailed metadata right in Photos, but with an iPad the directions call for sharing the photo with Files and reading the data there. Why doesn't he have to do what is done on an iPad. Am I looking at the wrong "contextual menu" or the pop=up menu?

You should be able to see many metadata right in Photos on the iPad as well, if you upgrade the system on the iPad to iPadOS 15. Then you will be seeing an Info button in the toolbar, after you select a photo thumbnail. This will open the Info panel with many metadata. On older system versions you could 8nstall third-party photo extensions like Metapho or ViewExif, that can be called from Photos.
