Big Sur 11.6 game pad / controller support update

Paired my new Xbox X/S series wireless controller today on MacBook Pro. Big Sur done an update to support the controller then notified me on the screen, “device firmware is not up to date”. Logged into my bootcamp to use widows 10. Because Xbox Controller firmware upgrade is possible only on windows or the console. Plugged the controller in with USB to do the firmware upgrade. Now firmware upgraded to version 5.7.2688.0. Logged back into BigSur. Paired the game pad again. Now “Game controller tester” app is open, all buttons are recognised perfectly on the OS. Vary happy. Have the “joystick mapper” app purchased and ready to fix all problems. Wanna do some serious gaming on Mac in lockdown. Apple TV4K is ready to mirror the MacBook on big screen TV.

Started with a FPS game on Mac to kill some ******** mocking on silicon servers. You know what, bad luck controller is not working on any of the games I have purchased so far. I am the biggest fan of RPG games. Buying new adventures to Finnish in days or week. WTF is going on, why my controller is not recognising on any Mac games. Apple TV has 64GB space Max. Can keep 10 games barely. Funny thing is Xbox controller is working fine on TVOS. What’s wrong with BigSur?

Checked some YouTube videos months ago before buying steelseries (nimbus+) game pad. This one has an iPhone holder. So using this game pad on iPhone also supports most of the games on Apple TV. Some games are not supporting the steelseries on my Mac BigSur. Fucken two controllers is not catching up games on Apple store???!!. Apple store selling games to use infinite numbers of game pads? WTF. I bought a bundle of games blindly knowing that BigSur supports new controllers from steelseries or Xbox, two controllers should be fine for dual play.

This is going too far. PS4 dual shock also supported by BigSur with those Big updates Apple was promising. This is the third one they will recommend if you wanna buy games from Apple store blindly, without losing your money. Hang on, it is not done yet. There are steam game pads. Fucken lock down, when it will end ?

FPS free games (steelseries nimbus+ worked fine. On some games it works once loaded on server to play):

Finally Feral Interactive developer replied to my email with a plist file that I can play the Tomb Raider on Mac OS Big Sur using Xbox X/S series controller.

following was the reply from the feral interactive developer :

The Xbox Series controller was not available at the time of development of our Mac version of the game, so we are looking into a workaround to allow it to be used.

I have attached a file to this email that should add support for the Xbox Series controller. Please first download this file and carry out the following steps:

Find your installation of the game:
- If you are using a Mac App Store version of the game, the game's application icon will be in your Applications folder.
- If you are using a Steam version of the game, the game's application icon can be found by Right Clicking game in Steam Library, then selecting Properties > Local Files > Browse Local Files.
Right click the game's application icon and choose 'Show Package Contents' from the dropdown menu.
Open the 'Contents' folder, then the 'Resources' folder and finally 'Input Devices'.
Drag the attached .plist file into the folder (you may be asked to Authenticate using your username and password, please do so).
Close the Finder window.
